Some of you, usually in a privileged position in one form or another, are terrified of another's anger.

You see someone expressing frustration in a chill manner & immediately read anger. Your focus on the 'anger' instead of the issue at hand shows how little interest you actually have in 'solving the problem.'

The condescension says a lot more about you than the person you are essentially trolling.

Let me give you an example.

at a leadership workshop, we had to do various exercises. In this workshop with about 10 women, only 2 of us were BW.

In one of the exercises, I admitted that I have a lot of anger abt structural issues and politics, but that I know that it's not a bad thing and to use it for good. But when I say I was chill the whole time, never taking my anger out on any one (no reason at all to do so) ...

I was told that I should be careful about where I bring bad energy & shouldn't have brought it there.

I never once yelled, I never once blamed anyone, I never pointed fingers, didn't even raise my voice above inside voice.

I was literally participating and sharing my thoughts bc of the exercise....

No one took into account anything else I said except the word 'anger'.

why?

Bc since ppl do not read nor do they listen, they hear *one* word that makes them feel some type of way and run away with it.

But if I was a WW, no one would have batted an eye.

Being that I was a BW (albeit light skinned and there's context for colorism to be discussed here too) and unapologetic about it, then there was a fucking issue.
