long overdue reintroduction:
i’m monique. i’m a brown queer femme designer from the bay area in california (born and raised). i’m prone to changing my career and currently work in tech. got my degree in lit and critical theory. i’m also a gamer, a stoner, a prison abolition activist, 30 going on 31 (4/20 baby), a rape survivor, and not terribly severe dyslexic.
Alita Battle Angel / mild, vague spoilers Show more
Big, huge, massive fan of Gunnm back in the 90s. I know every page by heart. Alita Battle Angel made me so sad: another strong woman lead that just follows around what males tell her to do. A wide part of Gally’s melancholic personality has been wiped out. She’s a being of pain, and in the movie it’s barely noticeable.
They took a LOT of freedom over the original storyline. In the end, it makes for a watchable, mildly entertaining movie, that’s all.

-Well the LAW & CONSTITUTION says-
We can't even use 'the law' to hold a white stanford rapist accountable! Or a white kid who was involved in FOUR vehicular homicides! How many times has 'the law' put away predators outed by #MeToo?? They found a segregated child GRAVEYARD at The Dozier school in FL, WHO did 'the law' hold accountable?? THE👏🏽 LAW👏🏽 DOES👏🏽 NOT 👏🏽APPLY 👏🏽TO👏🏽 EVERYBODY👏🏽
