People seem a little confuse about responsibility to fight oppression.

If there is a system that oppresses and kills people for YOUR benefit, you are morally obligated to oppose it. Even if you yourself did not commit a crime, it is for YOU.

Yes, I'm talking to you, white people, men, cis people, heterosexual people, rich people. We ALL are *morally obligated* to tear apart a system that hurts other people for our benefit.

I am not trans. Therefore, the hurt and erasure of trans people is meant to protect my womanhood.

I'm not okay with that.

I fight trans hatred and violence whenever and wherever I see it. I support trans creators and trans voices in any way I can.

It's pretty simple, actually.

Correction: transphobia and trans-hatred is not *meant* to protect cis womanhood. It is meant to protect patriarchy.

@guerrillablack Arguably it protects both, considering the existence of TERFs

@mirzaba @guerrillablack Upholding the gemder binary enforces the patriarchy. Makes you wonder what's so 'radical' about TERFs, doesn't it.

@mirzaba @guerrillablack terfs have just found a cozy niche within patriarchy

and for that reason alone, there's nothing radical or feminist about their approach.

@guerrillablack you're so good, friend. 💚

and it's worth calling out that I recognize and realize the same in how people of colour are treated, and to call out that I know it's directly benefited me. I will always put myself on the front lines of those battles to protect y'all and fight for change, because it's not ok, and has never been ok.

@guerrillablack

Remember, there is more than one morality. Thus, you can reasonably appeal only to those, who share this specific part of moral axioms, you base your appeal on.

Reposting -- some text was missing.

My suggested phrasing:
"If you live in a system that hurts other people for your benefit, check if it is acceptable within your morality. If not, help to dismantle it and replace with more just one.

Otherwise, face consequences."

@Petros I have no interest to appealing to people who do not share morality with me.

@guerrillablack

In practice, I do the same. Not convincing people, just looking for those who are close enough to accept what I advocate. But then, "ALL" in your appeal is misplaced.

Disclaimer: No offence intended. I do not try to be negative nor pedantic. This is how my brain works, after decades of experiencing good causes being advocated in a wrong way.

@guerrillablack white, male, cis/het, rich.....well, comparatively, yeah. Damn...ouch, and point taken.

@guerrillablack

We ALL are morally obligated to tear apart a system that hurts other people WHETHER OR NOT it's for our personal benefit.

But thanks for the self-righteous, supercilious lecture anyway.
