@Creaturista looks like it's only getting worse... What are you working in that mess?
@Awizadofearthsea We need to rewire the distribution panel so that it's easy to modify and just generally organize everything. A lot of this is figuring out where wires were run so that they can be labeled.
@Creaturista definitely worth the time to make shit easier in the long run. Did you inherit all that from a former owner?
@Awizadofearthsea That's exactly it. The wiring is almost all correct and/or done well, but things kept getting added and changed over time(and there's just a lot of wiring on a boat, even without an AC system!). It was to the point where you couldn't even open the panel door without things coming undone.
@Creaturista classic. The tall ship I'm on right now has that problem big time. Fifty years old and each lighting fixture on a different circuit put in by a different assistant engineer. Good luck! I'm sure it'll be really satisfying when you've got it all neatened up
@Awizadofearthsea Yikes. I bet there are some impressive (and terrible) setups on those ships. It'd definitely be cool to check out and learn more about someday. Just the size of the darn things alone seems like it would present a pretty decent challenge.
Thanks for wishing us luck. Things got a lot easier once we realized we could get the top of the chart table out of the way. Might even have an accurate schematic by the end of the day.
@Creaturista yeah, we'll see if I end up being responsible for that project and if I learn anything other than that it should've been done better in the first place.
