If it's one thing I've learned in the two years since I set up this instance, it's that we do not need advice, support, assistance from your faves to build a healthy sustainable environment.
We just don't.
We're always open to building bridges, but we're not going to sacrifice our priorities to do it.
We're going to do our thing whether your favorite 'influencer' likes us or not.
That's just how it is.
Ro watches The Walking Dead
So, I'm watching this show and I'm kind of amazed because they *never* prepare to deal with zombies, despite the fact how often the encounter them.
No leather or at least layered cloth armor to reduce the possibility of bites. Reliance on firearms that jam/run out of ammo. No cardio and upper body training to improve movement and melee combat effectiveness. Zero training with actual melee weapons.
Do these people want to live??
@Are0h but they follow the right amount of PoC even tho they shade us behind our backs
You can't have it both ways.
You can't be about safety, fairness and equality and yet find common ground with people that mean harm to communities they don't like simply because.
Either you are making the lives of bigots harder and frustrating their efforts or you're helping them.
I don't give a shit how many times you BLM hashtags you use.
A lot of people want to perform anti-hate, but don't want to pay the actual price of being that.
The persistence of hate on the fedi isn't magic.
Here's the thing.
You can say your anti-racist, anti-bigot as much as you want, but if you're still breaking bread with these hatefule pricks and they find you REASONABLE, LOL, you're not what you claim.
If racists, sexists, homophobes, islamaphobes, etc do not hate your fucking guts and LOATHE interacting with you, what are you really doing?

fragility in vocabulary, racism
A handy guide to common euphemisms when media sources are too fragile to use the word "racism"
- "backlash to political correctness"
- "racial anxiety"
- "racial tension"
- "economic anxiety"
- "race-based discrepancies" in loans, policing, health care, etc.
My favorite example is: "Study shows Trump voters motivated by cultural anxiety." The paper goes on to define "cultural anxiety" as "anti-black and anti-immigrant sentiment" 😂
