Moving my mail over to Proton has turned out to be great decision as it frees up a big part of my time so I don't have to administrate email anymore.
Configuration was pretty easy and for the plan I have, I get access to their VPN services as well.
It's only been a week or two, but I would definitely recommend Proton Mail if you're looking for a quality encrypted email service.
@Are0h Are you using their imap gateway or a client?
@seanl Well, to use a mail client, you have to use their gateway, but I usually float between using Apple Mail and their web client.
On my device, I generally just use their mail app. It's pretty nice.
@Are0h @seanl the filters have worked well for me as well - about 20 minutes of initial setup (and occasional tweaks) and now I only have to give it a single glance a day plus whatever priority emails come in. Still waiting for a sans-Gapps version for android and production Linux bridge and then it'll be nearly perfect!
@danielkleine @Are0h I'm running it with MicroG and registration/GCM turned off. Everything except notifications works.
@seanl @danielkleine @Are0h Yeah, hopefully they make good on the promise to fix that sooner than later, since the solution while not trivial has been done before (see Signal offering a non GCM alternative)
@danielkleine @Are0h Now if only Signal would work on a phone without a SIM card.
@Are0h i did this a couple months ago and i also have no regrets!
