The dancing white guys do to avoid the objective point that they get preferential treatment at the cost of everyone else will never not be funny to me.
It just is what it is, yo. Trying to debate the reality of it is why people don't like talking you.
And to be quite honest, I have such an appreciation for the white guys that come out of nowhere to illustrate the behaviors that I speak on that hinder progress, inclusion and pushing the culture forward.
Yo, we _need_ diversity. It's that simple. We cannot keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect thing to change.
We need women, LGBTI, Black, Brown, Native folks in the game because we need their ideas to push the community and culture forward. We need to make our spaces _more_ appealing to them because we need them. We need their insight, knowledge and experience to find solutions that elude dominant culture.
Diversity isn't a bullet point. It's literally life.
@paco Yeah, I'm the same way. I have no issue with people who have it worse than me getting opportunities to show their worth.
I'll be fine. We'll all be fine because it raises the tide for everyone.

@Are0h I’m with you. I’m straight white male. I tried to land a spot on a board of directors recently. Board didn’t nominate me. I looked at the slate of people the current board DID nominate and saw women of colour, men of colour, and lots of people not like me. Awesome. That is cool by me. Their time has come.
